Fighting with the computer tonight! It is not my friend. Second time I tried to blog this photo, and hope it is not posted twice! This is a pastel on paper of another madrona tree, 18x24". I can't seem to stay in one artistic medium. I hop around from oils to watercolors to pastels and back again. I don't know if that is a plus or a minus, but it does give me options and choices. I usually think I like oils best, but that is partly because they cost less to frame.

This painting is one that is in the Arts of Snohomish gallery until November 1st. Oil on canvas, about 16"x36" wrapped canvas. I painted it from a photo I took when we were anchored at Jones Island, west of Orcas island. I am always fascinated by the madrona trees out in the islands, and have not captured their likeness in paint quite to my satisfaction yet! Motivation to keep painting. I need to find more time to paint.
